Argentina vs Australia - Round of 16 of FIFA World Cup

The Copa America Champions Argentina qualified for knockout stages despite the loss against Saudi Arabia in their opening game. They topped the Group C after defeating Poland and Mexico in their remaining matches. Their star player Lionel Messi already missed 2 penalty shootout.

On the other side, Australians have qualified for Round of 16 after some hard fought win against Tunisia and Denmark. The Socceroos will have to defend Messi's Argentina which is  a difficult job for them. The experience which La Selección's have that will be the difference is the result of this match.

Former East Bengal player joins I-League team

Ex player of Kolkata Giants East Bengal and Mohun Bagan, 32 year old Raju Gaikwad joins I-League side Churchill Brothers FC on a two year deal as per reports.  Pic - Raju Gaikwad ( Google ) The player started his football career Indian Arrows in 2010, primarily plays as a centre back but also able to play as a full back, is a well known name in Kolkata football. Indian U20 men's national football team head coach Shanmugam Venkatesh named 23 man squad ahead of u20 Asian Cup Qualifiers to be held in Kuwait. Jeje Lalpekhlua, one of the most popular football players in India, announced his retirement from professional football on 17th February, 2023. Hero I-League, the second tier of Indian football structure, will start from 12th November onwards with 12 teams accross the country. Former Mohun Bagan star midfielder Joseba Beitia has joined I-League outfit Rajasthan United for the upcoming season.
