Hyderabad FC makes it to the semifinals of Durand Cup

Hyderabad FC moves their another steps towards Durand Cup glory by defeating I-League side Rajasthan United by 3-1 scoreline in the last quarter final match today at Kishore Bharati Stadium, Kolkata. Though Hyderabad was the favourite team in this clash, they made 9 changes in their first eleven before today's game.

In 6th minutes Hyderabad takes the lead through a deadly header scored by Ogbeche. Then in 29th minute, Hyderabad left back Akash Mishra made a hand ball in own box and Rajasthan gets a penalty. Martin Chaves equalised for Rajasthan United by sending the ball back of the net. But at the end of first half Akash Mishra corrected his mistake by scoring a phenomenal strike from outside the Rajasthan United box. In extra time of first half, Hyderabad had a free kick, Borja takes that and it saved by the Rajasthan goalkeeper. In 68th minute substitute player Holicharan Narzary place a beautiful cross in the middle of Rajasthan box and young striker Javier Siverio finished lika pocher on that ball, Hyderabad took 3-1 lead. In the extra time, Rajasthan had a chance to score goal from a free kick, Martin Chaves takes it but the crossbar saves Hyderabad this time. 

Hyderabad FC will face Bengaluru FC in the semifinal of Durand Cup in 15th September at Saltlake Stadium, Kolkata. And Rajasthan United ends their unforgettable journey towards the prestigious Durand Cup trophy. In their maiden season in the tournament, they made it to quarter final from a very tough group consisting three ISL teams. And their fight will be remembered among the fans for a long time.
