Kerala Blasters past East Bengal by 3-1 in ISL opener

Kerala Blasters defeated East Bengal by 3-1 in the inaugural opening match of 2022-23 Hero Indian Super League at The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi today. Ivan Kalyuzhnyi, the Ukrainian star scored a brace in his ISL debut, gives Kerala Blasters the win they need in the first match of the season. The fans of them (yennam yellow, manjapadda) were present in the Stadium in full mood today.

In the first 10 minutes East Bengal played agressive moves on which Alex Lima takes the first shot on target in the match, but it saved by Blaster goalkeeper Gill who prevents Alex from scoring the opening goal. Once Adrian Luna finds Leskovic in the box, but the latter missed a free header. The time moves, and Kerala Blasters looks more aggressive in the attacking area, jessel carneiro took a cross for Giannou, but he couldn't make a proper touch with the ball. In 25th minute Sahal Abdul Samad cuts in East Bengal box and played a pass to Puitea, but again Kerala Blasters couldn't find the net, Puitea's shot goes off target. Adrian Luna takes a direct dipping free kick in 41th minute, this time Kamaljit Singh saved it anyway. And the first half ends with no goals for both teams. 

In the start of the second half, Apostolos Giannou almost scored a goal, takes a bolster shot towards East Bengal's goal, again Kamaljit Singh saved it. And in 53th minute again Giannou took a cross towards Luna who touched the ball in the goal, but again Kamaljit saved it. Blasters looked furious in the second half. And after 70 minutes of the match, the Uruguayan player Adrian Luna scored the first goal of the Hero Indian Super League from Khabra's cross by a simple tap-in. In 81th minute substitute player Ivan takes a solo run towards East Bengal box and scored the second goal of the match. After some time, Alex Lima scored the equaliser for East Bengal from a rebound volley. Again after that, Ivan scored a beautiful long ranger and increase the difference between the teams.

Another ISL season, another match for East Bengal, another defeat for them. That's the story of East Bengal from the past two seasons to this season's opener. After changing the coach, the foreign players, some domestic players, the story being same. Kamaljit Singh was like a wall beneath the goalpost today, or the goal difference will increase even more. Only one thing positive for the Red and Gold brigade that some individuals showed good performance in today's match like Alex Lima.

Mohammadan SC through semifinals of Durand Cup after winning Quarter Final

In the first quarter final match of ongoing Durand Cup 2022, Mohammedan SC defeated Kerala Blasters FC 3-0 at Saltlake stadium, Kolkata. The Black Panthers are the dominating side in the whole match. Jamshedpur FC signs Indian midfielder Germanpreet Singh

 Pic - Germanpreet Singh Indian Super League side Jamshedpur FC roped in Indian midfielder Germanpreet Singh for the upcoming ISL season. The midfielder is a graduate of AIFF Academy and joins the red miners from Chennaiyin FC ahead of new season. The midfielder started his career at Dempo and then move to Minerva Punjab in 2017. Later that year he joined Chennaiyin FC. During his time at Chennaiyin FC, he played 55 matches for the club and scored one goal also. He also played for India u19 and u23 side and made his debut for senior national team in 2016, in a game against Thailand.
