Mohammadan SC through semifinals of Durand Cup after winning Quarter Final

In the first quarter final match of ongoing Durand Cup 2022, Mohammedan SC defeated Kerala Blasters FC 3-0 at Saltlake stadium, Kolkata. The Black Panthers are the dominating side in the whole match. The hero of the match is Abiola Dauda - the new foreign striker of Mohammedan SC who introduces himself to Indian football by scoring 2 goals in his debut game.

The first goal of the match came in 17th minute when Marcus Joseph put a cross and Sk Faiaz place the ball through the net. Next in 59th minute Dauda scored his first goal, assist by Sk Faiaz. After that Kerala Blasters had a free kick, but couldn't capitalise it to a goal. And again in 84th minute Dauda scored a magnificient goal from Ambekar's cross. Abiola Dauda came, conquered and put Mohammedan SC in semifinal. The other boy, Sk Faiaz puts a fantastic show throughout the game by scoring a goal and assisting one. 

Kerala Blasters who lost the match ends their journey of Durand Cup 2022 here. Although, some of their players showed good performance in the tournament.

Gokulam Kerala signs Afgan Midfielder for Upcoming season

I-League Champions Gokulam Kerala recently signed an foreign midfielder for the upcoming season. Farshad Noor, the player from Afghanistan will join the Malabarians to bolster the squad in their second consecutive I-League campaign. Pic - Farshad Noor ( Google) He started his football career at PSV youth academy and played for various European clubs including Jong PSV, Roda JC Kerkrade, AFC Eskilstuna etc, and for Indonesian club Persib Bandung in Liga 1. Last season he played for a Baharini club  Al-Hala SC.  His most successful stint was for Nea Salamis where he scored 6 goals in 59 matches. In his early days he was in Netherlands u17 team and recently played against India in Asian Cup Qualifiers for the Afghanistan national team. He displayed a brilliant performance against India on that match.

Hero I-League, the second tier of Indian football structure, will start from 12th November onwards with 12 teams accross the country. Indian U20 men's national football team head coach Shanmugam Venkatesh named 23 man squad ahead of u20 Asian Cup Qualifiers to be held in Kuwait. Indian Football signed MoU with Saudi Arabia

Recently, Indian Football Federation signed a MoU contract with Saudi Arabian Football Federation where president Kalyan Chaubey and secretary general Shaji Pravakaran were present. Kerala Blasters past East Bengal by 3-1 in ISL opener

Kerala Blasters defeated East Bengal by 3-1 in the inaugural opening match of 2022-23 Hero Indian Super League at The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi today. Ivan Kalyuzhnyi, the Ukrainian star scored a brace in his ISL debut, gives Kerala Blasters the win they need in the first match of the season. Former Mohun Bagan star midfielder Joseba Beitia has joined I-League outfit Rajasthan United for the upcoming season. After playing for several low division clubs in his country like Real Sociedad B, Somozas, Marbella etc, he came to India in 2019 as a Mohun Bagan player. In his first season in India he won I-League 2019-20 with Mohun Bagan where he scored 3 goals in 16 matches.  But the club didn't included him in Mohun Bagan and ATK FC's merger team ATK Mohun Bagan's squad in ISL 2020-21.
