Ex Indian footballer becomes new AIFF President

After FIFA revoked the on All India Football Federation, elections for new executive committee of AIFF were held yesterday at Football House, Delhi. Kalyan Chaubey, the ex Indian international and current BJP politician becomes the new president of All India Football Federation after beating another well known ex player Bhaichung Bhutia one sided election. Bhaichung Bhutia gets only one vote, despite two state federation proposed him.

NA Haris will become the vice president and Kipa Ajay will be the treasurer of All India Football Federation. President of Delhi Football Federation, Shaji Pravakaran will be the new AIFF Secretary General. Former East Bengal player joins I-League team

Ex player of Kolkata Giants East Bengal and Mohun Bagan, 32 year old Raju Gaikwad joins I-League side Churchill Brothers FC on a two year deal as per reports.  Pic - Raju Gaikwad ( Google ) The player started his football career Indian Arrows in 2010, primarily plays as a centre back but also able to play as a full back, is a well known name in Kolkata football. Indian U20 men's national football team head coach Shanmugam Venkatesh named 23 man squad ahead of u20 Asian Cup Qualifiers to be held in Kuwait. India placed in Group H along with Iran, Australia and Kuwait, whom will India play in 14, 16, 18th October respectively.  Pic - All India Football Federation website Coach said that the boys are motivated and confident about qualifying for next u20 Asian Cup 2023 to be held in Uzbekistan. Jeje Lalpekhlua, one of the most popular football players in India, announced his retirement from professional football on 17th February, 2023. Hero I-League, the second tier of Indian football structure, will start from 12th November onwards with 12 teams accross the country. Kerala Blasters defeated East Bengal by 3-1 in the inaugural opening match of 2022-23 Hero Indian Super League at The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi today. Former Mohun Bagan star midfielder Joseba Beitia has joined I-League outfit Rajasthan United for the upcoming season.
