India win SAFF U20 CHAMPIONSHIP 2022

In the final match of SAFF U20 CHAMPIONSHIP, India thrash Bangladesh by 5-2 scoreline. The match was held in Kalinga stadium, Bhuvneshwar.

In the first minute of the match, India took an early lead through a penalty shootout - scored by Gurkirat Singh. The golden boy Gurkirat Singh scored total 4 goals in the match, helping India clinch the SAFF U20 title. Also, Himangshu Jhangra scored a goal for India. 

MD. Rajan Howlada and Shahin Mia scored the two goals for Bangladesh. After the early lead of India, Bangladesh scored two goals and take the match result to their favour.

But in the 60th minute of the game, Gurkirat scored his 2nd goal of the day and take back India in the match. And in the extra time India scored 3 goals, two by Gurkirat and one by Himangshu, to beat Bangladesh by 5-2 scoreline.

The player, Gurkirat Singh won the prize - the player of the tournament by scoring 8 goals in only 5 matches.

All things to know about I-League new season

Hero I-League, the second tier of Indian football structure, will start from 12th November onwards with 12 teams accross the country. The new 2022-23 season will be the most interesting and a game changer for the future of Indian football development.  Pic The 12 clubs will fight for the I-League glory, as the champions of this season will get a direct spot in Indian Super League 2023-24, on the basis of fulfilling sporting merit and clearing the Premier 1 Licensing criteria. Gokulam Kerala signs Afgan Midfielder for Upcoming season

I-League Champions Gokulam Kerala recently signed an foreign midfielder for the upcoming season. Farshad Noor, the player from Afghanistan will join the Malabarians to bolster the squad in their second consecutive I-League campaign. Pic - Farshad Noor ( Google) He started his football career at PSV youth academy and played for various European clubs including Jong PSV, Roda JC Kerkrade, AFC Eskilstuna etc, and for Indonesian club Persib Bandung in Liga 1. Last season he played for a Baharini club  Al-Hala SC.  His most successful stint was for Nea Salamis where he scored 6 goals in 59 matches. In his early days he was in Netherlands u17 team and recently played against India in Asian Cup Qualifiers for the Afghanistan national team. Mumbai City thrash Indian Navy by 4 - 1

Mumbai City played their first match in the prestigious football tournament Durand Cup today and beat the opposition Indian Navy by 4-1 scoreline.  pic - Durand Cup social media Adresh scored the first goal of the match in 43 minute for Indian Navy. After that young Indian forward Vikram Pratap Singh took back Mumbai City in the game in the added minutes of the first half. Then Greg Stewart scored a penalty and coach Des Buckingham took back Vikram from the field and out Chhangte in the position. And that's the match turning point. Chhangte scored 2 goals for Mubai City, one in 89th minute and one in added times. And gives Mumbai City the win they need in the season opener.

India announced squad for U20 Asian Cup Qualifiers

Indian U20 men's national football team head coach Shanmugam Venkatesh named 23 man squad ahead of u20 Asian Cup Qualifiers to be held in Kuwait. India placed in Group H along with Iran, Australia and Kuwait, whom will India play in 14, 16, 18th October respectively.  Pic - All India Football Federation website Coach said that the boys are motivated and confident about qualifying for next u20 Asian Cup 2023 to be held in Uzbekistan. Indian national football team set to play a friendly match against Panama, who last featured in the FIFA World Cup 2026, at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on September 25. Bengaluru FC reaches Durand Cup semi final after defeating Odisha FC 2-1 in quarter final match today at Kishore Bharati Stadium, Kolkata. Indian Football signed MoU with Saudi Arabia

Recently, Indian Football Federation signed a MoU contract with Saudi Arabian Football Federation where president Kalyan Chaubey and secretary general Shaji Pravakaran were present.
